The Objectives

 

During this highly intensive four-day course you will learn about the principles and management techniques, which provide the basis of effective health and safety management.

The Course Programme

 

The programme is a total of 28

guided learning hours (GLH)

 

There are seven modules

within the course:

1: Health and safety – 3 units

2: Risk assessment part 1 – 4 units

3: Risk assessment part 2 - 3 units

4: Legislative compliance – 5 units

5: Generic safety elements – 3 units

6: Managing & promoting – 4 units

7: Communication – 2 units

The Small Print

Essential Safety is an ASET Approved Training Centre and has been licensed to deliver this Health and Safety for Managers course and National ASET Award to Level 3 on the National Qualifications Framework, which meets the required levels of: - NQF level 3, NVQ Level 3 and A Level.

 

 

All units and all modules are compulsory and must be passed for achievement of the award.

Module 1 & 4 (solely knowledge based aspects of the course) can be accredited through prior learning; it is recognised that many candidates will have already undergone significant training and have competence in these areas.

Assessment of both course and prior learning is through:

Pre-study material: -  paper based, for APL where required.

Observation and questioning; holistic approach through the course,

Formal observation of required operations,

End of course Exam: - paper based.

Candidates must pass all elements.

 

Candidates assessed activities will be recorded or annotated by examiners on Essential Safety paperwork under our existing equal opportunities policy, verification and CPD programs.

Time constrained examinations are supervised under examination conditions.
